    What is Dry Needling?

Dry Needling is a technique used in osteopathic treatment. It uses small, solid needles to release tight muscles, also called trigger points. The goal is to reduce muscle pain and improve how your body moves.

    How Does Dry Needling Work?

Trigger points are “knots” in your muscles that can cause pain. When a needle goes into a trigger point, you might feel a quick muscle twitch. This twitch shows the needle is in the right spot. Afterward, the muscle relaxes and returns to normal.

What to Expect During Dry Needling

Dry Needling usually isn’t painful. You may feel a small pinch as the needle goes in. Once it’s in, your osteopath may move the needle until you feel an ache or twitch. Sometimes the needle stays in for about 15 minutes, with gentle movements. Other times, your osteopath may move the needle in and out several times. You might feel a mild ache, but most people find the treatment comfortable.
